Ozgun Erdogan - Co-founder at Citus Data
Topic: Scalable PostgreSQL: Keep calm and scale out. SQL databases are traditionally known as hard to scale. This talk will first highlight a surprising architectural property that earned SQL databases that reputation. Then, the talk will cover how the new PostgreSQL extensions overcome this architectural limitation, and will show the way to a calm and shared future.
Bio: Ozgun is a co-founder and the CTO at Citus Data. Previously, Ozgun worked as a software developer for four years in the Distributed Systems Engineering team at Amazon. There, he not only worked on building systems for scalable data analytics, but also proposed, designed, and implemented novel algorithms on distributed caching and consistency. Ozgun earned his M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University, and his B.S. from Galatasaray University. He also holds patents on distributed cache consistency and load balancing.
